We usually recommend 1 session/week as a minimum. This frequency allows the player to achieve good results. Players who participate twice/week will see benefits much faster, but 3 sessions/week tends to be a bit of"overkill". So during the season, we recommend once/week for sure, and then in the Spring and Summer off-seasons, we recommend twice/week.

You mentioned above that it can take 6months to a year of sessions, before permanent change.

How often is it suggested for someone to have sessions, in order for the changes to be effective and lasting?

Thank you

Thanks for your question Robert.

Coach Carrie says between 6-10 sessions players see a noticeable difference/improvement in their stride mechanics. However, skating does take awhile to get better at, and permanent changes can take anywhere from 6 months to a year to occur.
